"Inside this CD are talent rich professional musicians who are sharing their years of work, maturity and vision with you.  You'll not only HEAR the love they have for their music, but, my friends, you will also FEEL it...."

--Lee Michaels, founding member of REO Speedwagon
writing in Holler Magazine.

Here's a quote from the latest press publication about the Johnny O. Band:

"A particularly skilled guitarist, Ohnmacht displays a master control with an exceedingly clean precision. He is both beguiling and comfortable to watch, intense and amenable at once. One would be hard pressed to find too many guitarists with Ohnmacht’s skill and command. His playing is both zealous and mesmerizing, baffling the audience with his exactitude and ease, hands moving apace, hypnotizing the spectators. With a guitar in his adept hands, Ohnmacht becomes who he is, and he should do nothing else. Well, almost nothing. Then, there’s that voice......."

"John Ohnmacht has proved with this release that he is a talent to be reckoned with-certainly one of the most original Bluesmen from Colorado. If this work gets the recognition it deserves you will soon be hearing about the Johnny O. Band all across the country."

--Colorado Blues Society

"This album has many moods. It should be popular with blues fans, and, due to its loose adherence to blues conventions, it might well serve to convert those who have not yet developed a taste for the genre."

CD Review published in the Holler, Bimonthly News of the Colorado Blues Scene, Vol.4 No.2, 1997

This [self titled CD from the Johnny O Band] is a powerful debut from the extremely talented Colorado native, guitarist/singer/songwriter, Johnny Ohnmacht. It's a fine mix of Blues, with funked-up soulful dance music. Produced mostly with the three-piece live act, there is a sprinkling of organ, acoustic guitar, and backing vocals throughout, with fine performances by everyone.

Johnny sings all songs with a raspy, deep tone. He provides a unique and tasteful collection of covers and strong original songs, especially "Northstar", "Six Feet Underground", and a fine piece performed with Dobro, bass and vocals, called "Good, Good Day". He also wrote an interesting instrumental piece for acoustic and electric guitar, called "Copala".

Johnny O. plays with a contemporary Blues/Jazz styling. Captured here is his creative work, consisting of varied melodies, with articulate phrasing on fills and solos. The Johnny O Band adds another great dimension to the Colorado Blues scene. GET IT!
